Learning Centers

Wesley Day Care features learning centers that are equipped with inviting, age-appropriate learning materials, manipulative and theme-oriented activities that encourage learning and independence.

Art Center - including painting supplies, pencils, crayons, markers and easels; fabric pieces and collage materials; glue and scissors; egg cartons, paper bags, popsicle sticks and much more.

Construction and Design Center - including wooden blocks, age appropriate Lego’s; large and small vehicles; animals, people and traffic signs; and more.

Dramatic Play Center - including dramatic play furniture, dishes, utensils, place mats, pots, pans, food sets, telephones, dress up clothes, purses, hats, wallets, shoes, a cash register and more.

Math and Manipulative Center - including calendar, weather and number charts; magnetic numbers, puzzles, games and flash cards; safe manipulative for sorting (large buttons, stamps, stickers, etc.); paper, pencils, notebooks, index cards; measuring cups and spoons, cookie cutters in varying shapes and other materials used to weigh and measure.

Reading and Listening Center - including children's literature (with the current theme-related literature), magazines, newspapers, song and poem charts; audiocassette and CD player, headphones, recorded stories and songs; and comfy rugs and pillows.

Science and Sensorial Center - including sand and/or water table; magnets and magnetic items; feathers, leaves and other items from nature; magnifying glasses and mirrors.

Writing Center - pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers; various paper supplies, index cards; recycled magazines (that have been reviewed), books, newspapers; magnetic letters; and examples of print, including sentence strips with the children's names on them.


Circle Time Wall—reflects your child's day and includes:

*Art work- your child's master pieces
*Calendar displaying month, day, and year
*Weather symbols for the day
*Current themes your child is learning
